Hmmmm, methinks i need to start on side of caution and work up the revs while checking laptimes. I cant help thinking of Vettel vs alonso at the last F1, both used differing gearing so its not an exact science clearly! Fastest overall race was on the higher gearing but fastest lap was on longer gearing...diffferent engine power curves, different inherant power and differrent driving styles all play a part, as does your ability to carry speed round corners and get good exit speeds.
Sods law it will rain, throwing us a curve ball. Have to run more teeth then anyhow!
