Tkm 177 you say "dont chase the revs" well personally if my engine was not getting 16k rpm at kim with any of the 77/78 gearing I would sell it bec its simply not fast enough to be anywhere in top 10 at say the festival!

im offering you a choice here of two engine okay!?

both go on exactly same kart with same 77 gearing & carb ect

one does 16,400rpm

the other does 15.500rpm

Which engine do you want to have?

I had this argument with tkm's biggest engine rebuilder he hadnt got a clue what he was talking about :) you may not chase the 16k revs with gearing changes on a particular engine because the engine will only achieve what its capable of if its rubbish its rubbish... but change engines to find a motor that produces more RPM on the same gearing which mean you are getting higher RPM= MPH! so infact you are chasing well in excess of 16000rpm at kimbolton FACT! Well if you want to win you do if you’re a tail end Charlie it don’t matter ;)
