the fine is worded as " a sum up to Ł150 " so its the clerks desision of what the fine should be from a repremand or Ł20 to the full Ł150.

next about the Ł50 fine and no penalty points post

the MSA have suspended Points on licences for certain offences this year (so the clerk may not have been able to give a points penalty for the offence commited) as an experiment in the hope that the clerks will then hand out more exclusions for poor driving standards rather than points and fines in the hope that an exclusion will hurt a rich suported driver more than a monetery punishment only time will tell whether this works out.
