Hi Alex
I think this question is a little bit of 'how long is a peice of string'. It all depends on what you are looking for, second hand, brand new, chassis manufacturer, Engine, spares etc.
My Senior Max kart is a 2008 ALonso Kart, with a 2007 Engine. As part of the package I bought a set of used slicks on rims, used wets on rims, a 3 wheel trolley, a few sprockets, spare chains, oil and an Alfano all for £1800 which I bought last year. These are the bare essentials you will need to make it onto the track.
You also need to consider the cost of racing your kart. From my own experiences I pay out on average of around £350 each race meeting. And thats at club level.
TKM is cheaper, but unless you are based in the south you won't find many decent sized grids. Many clubs don't run Senior TKM at all any more.
