I am sure Ian wasn't being rude Alex and his answer is an excellent description of the difference. It isn't always easy to type what you mean as sometimes things can be interpreted differently. Whilst sometimes coming across as a miserable old so and so he is very knowledgable on karting and helps loads of people on the site.

Read his deffinitions again and you will see he was just making sure you werent getting muddled.
