People overtighten the fixing bolt.

This causes the moulded plastic bulb that encases the brass insert to crack, the fuel then leaks out through the insert.

There is no effective way of repairing them.

When you fit the tank, look at the gap between the tank insert and the bracket and find a packing washer just slightly thinner.

this prevents the bolt from pulling on the insert and straining it.
