I wasn't around but I bet people were saying the same about Rotax when it was launched. End of the day, most if not all classes are launched to make money for somebody, if so then it has to keep doing so in years to come. Only way to do that effectively is by changing parts & regs.
Have to say though the Brits are rubbish at making money from changing regs, the French are much better at it, by a long way. New Tillotson carb this year, 100 Euros worth, but if you want a 'race legal' one with a nice IAME stamp on it's 250 Euros. Or how about a new homolagated silencer, last years catalogue price 130€, now it's obligatory a mere 199€.
