Welllllll......

When you get to Beccles, there will be enough pressure on you. Don't leave it 'til the last minute. If you do, you'll mount the lead badly...

You have bathroom scales, surely? Take them to the garage without the wife noticing.... of course... Then....

Weigh the kart and engine (together or apart) (Stand the kart on the rear bumper on the scales)
Weigh your son FULL kitted out
Allow ROUGHLY 2 kilos for fuel.

Add that lot together and you'll have a ROUGH idea of the weight.

If you are more than a Kilo underweight, then start the process of SAFELY mounting the lead. It's actaully quicker to DE-mount the lead than ity is to ADD lead so you'll be rducing the pressure on yourself if you mount it band remove it than if you arrive, weightless, and try to 'bodge' on in any old fashion. Remember, others do NOT want to race with you if you have carelessly mounted hunks of metal that just MIGHT 'escape'!

.... clean the scales and return them to the bathroom without the missus noticing.... don't blame me if she catches you!

Ian
