Basically the 30mm axle flexes more than the 50mm, so when you run very wide it flexes too much causing the whip up and down on heavy cornering and braking. From our experience in junior tkm, running at the middle weight of 135 kg we found the limit at around 1350mm max rear track. By using a cik kart with a 50mm axle 1400mm is achievable. You must widen the front of the kart also to keep it balanced. Again there are limits due to not having a torsion bar causing excessive twist on the waist. I believe the viper to be a very good all round kart but you must work within it's limitations. Low front ride height also is a must, the difference is small though to be honest, also do not go below 10psi, especially with older tyres as the tyre walls become worn and softer.
