The best advice I can give you is to leave it in the upright position and meticulously clean, dry and maintain the whole assembly after every heat/race in extremely wet conditions.
Apply common motoroil on the filter mat and
squeeze out surplus oil afterwards. If you are lucky enough to have a spare filter mat/mats already prepared, all the better!
An old number plate "tie-wrapped" to the Chassis rails immediatly in front of the engine mount and underneath the Intake Trumpets will also help.
