Perhaps you like going slower then?

Our engines are quite low compression and I would have thought you want the quickest burn you can get.

High compression engines require a fuel that won't detonate but will 'burn' slowly to release its power.

Stick high octane in your plebby weak Rotax or TKM and you go even slower and it costs you more, who is this engine rebuilder with the good advice?

Now, find a way to break the suface tension of the fuel vapour droplets and you find a way of going a bit quicker.

Or is this part of Ian's 80% rubbish I'm talking?
