-'Rebuilt my 28 engines in a week. Can't beat that'.

my initial reactions to this post are: 28 engines in a week prob' = 4 engines in a day, = 3 hours per each engine then start all over again on another.

3 hours work doesn't allow much time for anything but straightforward assembly.
straightforward assembly = reasonable cost per hour.

multiply the 3 hours per engine by a reasonable hourly rate and you get figures far from what is quoted above.

Either the rates quoted above are inflated for the market or the engines are not all built by the actual tuner and therefore not to the same quality of work as the actual tuner might do.

A well known m'cycle tuner had a w'shop manned by youngsters. All building engines that traded on the tuners rep/name.

Yes average motors can come out of a mass produced workforce but the best motors are built personally by the best tuners alone.

Maybe corporate motors do not need to go as fast as owner drivers? I suppose lap times would confirm or deny this?

I would never pay anyone to tune my motors so I am against the principle anyway.Ditch the seal!
