Yes, a lot of the back clamps are not a full 180 but rather just 90 degrees so that it ends underneath the chassis rather than wrapping half way up the other side which then hits the crossbar. When it ends underneath the chassis it allows the engine to slide further back and should fix your problem. The longest chain I use is a 110 and I have run a 12/86 no problem.
