I don't believe you are talking out of your ar*s. If the idea was to make racing cheaper and fairer then it failed. It wasn't manufactured to good enough quality to make them basically equal. The method of matching parts made it more expensive and less fair.

If the new manufacturing makes them equal and negates the need to match parts, it may fulfil its remit.

But a word of warning. It is generally assumed that everyone wants equal racing which isn't dependent on wealth. Most people who can't afford to compete at the top would want this. However the people who can afford to win may not want this. If you remove the advantage money gives them, they may start losing and move to a different class, or sport. If you lose their money, it may be that the class can't generate enough money to make it viable. Making it fair might make it fail.......we shall see.
