The 8.5 was a result of an overfuelling problem at low revs.

It's just a tiny hole in the bottom of the venturi.

Most people would say run the 8.5 but others would say to run the 12.5.

Some say one is better on twisty track, some say one is better on long flowing tracks.

The answer as always will be TEST TEST TEST.

whether it's the 8.5 0r the 12.5 that makes the performance difference is open to debate and is probably more likely due to the carburetor as a whole, being the difference and being correctly set up.

Curiosity is good but at this early stage I would worry more about carburetor set up and cleanliness.

Learn to read your plug and exhaust header and the feedback the kart or driver gives you.
