Hello,
Definitely corerct to the run the 2 plug now. The 8 is for really hot weather which is long gone.

If you're only reaching 110 ish on the temp. Either the carb settings are way off or,(more likely) the temp sensor (cable) is broke. They can be temperamental and not cheap. Try borrowing another one to see if it changes.
