No.... you said the reverse.

.... well...... in that statement, you seem to have said two OPPOSING things! To get the effect that Alan wanted, raising the cable would have the REVERSE effect.
You then said something which is slightly ambiguous. Yes, moving the cable DOWN towards the axis will amplify the force applied BY your foot..... but your wording could be read to mean that moving DOWN the pedal would increase the pressure felt BY your foot....
Finally, your comment appears to say that Alan has it the wrong way round, no matter what was said in the final phrase..... we don't think he has got it wrong and thus, if you are disagreeing with Alan, we think you are wrong.
Still, this stuff is ONLY an opinion.
