Hi Ben,

Not had any experience with that particular engine, but from what you say the problem does seem to be fuel related.

Just to add to the previous suggestions, it might be a good idea to remove the petrol tap and clean its filter (if fitted):flush out the tank at the same time.

Stripping and cleaning the carb wouldn't be a bad idea, checking and possibly changing any fuel filters that may be fitted.
