Happened to me recently. I got the oil/fuel mixture wrong-too much oil. Empied fuel tank but it had run for a few laps.

Next time out failed on me. Took carb apart, took needles out and could see that at base of needle the oil had left a deposit, like a gold/brown colour. Used carb cleaner and sorted out the problem.

So wasn't dirt, just oil deposits, might be worth a look/try, what oil ration are you using? I use 40ml Castrol A647 per 1 ltr fuel.
