This was tried in France and it was a disaster. The reverse happens and it makes the racing even more expensive and the gaps bigger. What happens is that the rich kids and teams, go and test in the weeks and weekends before at the the various tracks. The others that only turn up for the weekend then have a massive disadvantage when they roll out onto the track for the first time on Saturday morning with little time to learn the track, let alone play with set-up.
