When did your engine last have a re-build and when did you last re-kit your carb(needle and seat not just Diaphragm kit). Have you done a pop off test on your carb what does it hold at if at all?
This is more likley to be the answer to your question.
You may be able to do a rebuild yourself if your not botherd about it being resealed.
