You'll struggle to find anything that matches a kart until at least F3, if not GP2. FFord is sedate by comparison. However, unlike FRenault, FBMW and other such classes, FFord drums in the fundamentals of driving and car setup. There's no aero to worry about, an H-Pattern box to develop mechanical sympathy and greater feel of car balance and there's the possibility of multi-manufacturers. Move into F3 and the concept is the same with the addition of aero. The next step should have been F2/F3000 with multiple manufacturers but alas, we have the holding ground that is GP2; a total irrelevance.
