The move to KF was nothing short of insane. We used to have have relatively cheap, simple engines albeit a little unreliable. KF was brought in to reduce costs and increase reliability with restricted tuning and stricter homologation and within 1 year, KF1 turned into Super KF with open tuning on more expensive and more complicated engines that are seemingly just as unreliable.

You will find very few drivers who, having driven 100cc, prefer to drive the Rotax Max. Those that do try it also realise that push starting isn't much of a chore either.
