That depends on which of the two circuits he's listed was where he was suffering the sliding.

If it was Ellough, it probably was the tyres.

if it was Red Lodge, the tarmac is like glass, all it takes is a slightly cold day and you're sliding. In winter months, they often run wets in full dry conditions because its seconds a lap faster
