WEIGHT CHANGE FOR TKM EXTREME 144 CATEGORY

Tal-Ko Racing, organisers of the Formula TKM classes, have announced a small change in the weight for karts in the new TKM Extreme 144 section which races with a blue restrictor.

With effect from July 1 2010, the minimum weight limit for this class will rise from 144 to 146kg. This change has been agreed with the ABkC and MSA under rule B3.2.

The amendment has been carried out after further assessment of the two weight/power bands within the class which showed a slight advantage to the 144 category at some circuits.

Commenting on the change, Tal-Ko Racing Managing Director Alan Turney explained: “The benefit was very small but we are always anxious to keep racing fair and equal for everyone and have therefore taken this decision.

Anyone think this is going to work? 2kg is quite a lot.
