Simon,

You and I must watch different kart meetings.

It common that clerks use the MAY option in 12.5.4. all the time and consider that using the kerbs is NOT incompatible with general safety.

This therefore leaves only 14.5.b to be complied with which clearly states all but one wheel may be behind the white line.

This is a competitive sport and no one will follow your mantra if it costs 2-3 tenths which it does!
