Just because it works in a ROAD car does NOT mean it will work in a kart!

Why? Simple:-

1) Road cars have suspension and will not have such violent changes of direction (i.e., G loading). The extra G generated by a kart can easily break a filter if it's not mounted softly and securely...... which few people EVER manage!

2) Not many cars are 2 stroke whereas most karts ARE! The oil added in two stroke fuel can block certain types of paper filter. In my own experience, in a TKM, a new paper filter blocked SOLID in about 20 laps! This was with CLEAN fuel..... it was the oil that did it!

Choose your filter WITH CARE!

The filters on this page are good for karts....

The 'fuel funnel' filter is a MUST! The brass-weight, 'in-tank' filters are listed here, too!

Tal-Ko also sell a 'square' and 'flat' mesh filter. I can't find it on their site..... so phone them!

The filter mentioned as being IN the carb probably refers to WalBro and Tillotson carbs having a fine mesh inside the top of the pump. This should be cleaned REGULARLY!
