Just a note of thanks to all that contributed.

Took the carb apart, cleaned it with carb cleaner, having taken the jets out, could see in the bottom of the idle jet some red/orange gunk, which I assume is the oil. Sprayed carb cleaner and disappeared. Put carb back together, adjusted jets, hit the start button fired up straight away (well after a couple of secs while the fuel made its way back into the carb.

Seems to be running fine on the stand now-just hope it does on the track.
