There doesn't seem to be any advantage in using brand new tyres for racing ( unlike the old tyres ) and they are lasting well . Youngest was 0.5 secs/lap faster than the rest of the field last Sat at Whilton (JNR TKM) at NatSKA on tyres that have probably done 150 laps. Times still don't compare to the club meetings at the circuit I know but that is probably down to the stupid rear bumper that NatSKA insist on causing too much chassis stiffness.
It was warm weather and we ran the pressures as low as was safe- i.e not losing the tyre off the rims !!
