My nephew had the same grit problem with his fuel.He had the kart bog down on the warm up lap of the 2nd final and started dead last,he was supposed to be 4th on the grid ! The engine ran poorly all the way through this final.
Don't know if this had anything to do with the fuel, the tank had been drained and fuel replaced inbetween finals.
