with out front hubs, you can only adjust the width of your front end by using spacers, i.e 2.5mm 5mm 10mm etc, when using hubs you have different length hubs, 75mm 80mm 100mm etc, you can then fine tune with the spacers, theres probabaly many other reasons why hubs are better.
