the new tyre are grippier and people are finding the gearing needs to change - they are lasting well.
Last weekend at PFI Ryan Cole was only 0.1 sec faster on a 50mm axle over Rob Wallace on 30mm- it seems likely though that in warmer weather the 50mm will come into play on lap times . Can't comment on the CIK chassis - not aware of any in use as yet
Stephen Letts was on a TAG motor in juniors and blew the field away - hard to know if that was just engine alone but given his recent elevation to the class it is possible that a bigger proportion was down to engine bt he is a very experienced cadet driver so I wouldn't say there wasn't driver skill too. He did beat the 3 fastest juniors of 2009 who are still in the class after all .It was impressive .
Just my humble opinion after 6 years virtually living / breathing and paying for 2 sons in karting /helped run meetings as secretary of the meeting /spent hours on marshal posts / regular jobbing mechanic and runner for parts - but what would I know eh? As some are at pains to point out -I've never sat/driven a kart and I am female to boot - so what could I possibly know about anything? But I do know were the restrictor goes- unlike some eh buzzin ?
