All good advice but i could add one thing, if you hear another kart behind you just signal to the driver which side you want him to pass on, just a small finger point not your whole arm usually along a staight or coming to a braking area for a corner, just point for them to come down the inside and they'll appreciate that more than having to go round to outside, also make sure your finger is pointed sideways not upwards as that usually causes a confrontation back in the pits lol!

As has been said, its of no benefit to you 'YET' to block a driver, best to let him go and try to follow his lines, you'll learn more following than blocking
