Basically, running in involves flooring the throttle at low revs & at a certain rpm lifting off and letting the speed drop back , then repeating. Over a period of time, the rpm attained should be raised until maximum rpm is being used. The important thing, though, is what rpm to start off at. This depends on the piston/bore clearance given by the engine preparer. If the preparer has done his job properly, starting at half maximum rpm and increasing to maximum over a half hour period should be adequate.
