Who has EVER seen a chain hit anybody as it came off the sprockets?

They just lay themselves in a nice straight line on the tarmac.

THEN they get picked up by a sticky tyre, which is after the event.

The enclosed chain guard was and still is one of THE most stupid rules that exist.

More fingers have been pinched since its introduction than before when you could see the revolving parts and stay away from them if you were checking the chain tension while someone else moved the wheel to check the tyre pressures.

Still, what else did I expect, thought?
