All gases expand with heat. The only reason the nitrogen appears to be better is because the source (nitrogen bottles) have a much lower moisture content than normal compressed air.

The only other effect relates to the specific heat capacity of the gas you fill your tyres with. Nitrogen, oxygen and air have specific heat capacities close enough for the effect to be considered negligible.
