To be honest with you there is no way that you can tell if the whole engine is as is left the factory as the head and barrel aren't serialised. And it really doesn't matter that much.

As long as the barrel/head combination have been properly matched to the bottom end it makes no difference as to whether it left the factory like that.

The best engine we had as an extreme had a bottom end that was BT1825 with a converted barrel/head from another later engine (I've no idea how much younger it was). We unfortunately extremed both our good Junior engines and nether was as good an extyreme as they were juniors. The extremed barrel/head that we ended up using on the "1825 bottom end came from an engine we bought in bits for spares
