The fact that Tal-Ko have had to allow the TAG motor to have a higher compression ratio and different ignition timing to keep it competitive even though the porting is the same, implies that either the rotating weight of the new clutch and ignition, or the magnetic drag of the ignition, or the ignition advance curve of the new ignition, was handicapping it. They've had enough time now, so it should be the same performance.
