...as is the magnet that is in the crankshaft.

The crankshaft magnet triggers the coil to produce a spark at the same time each revolution.

The timing cannot be advanced, EXCEPT if you employ an eccentric bigend pin or one of the offset crank position sensors which allow the magnet to trigger the sensor earlier.

There's always a dodgy coil if you can get one.
