I'm not sure what you mean when you say "tested ht lead with meter and nothing" but cut about 10mm off the end of the HT lead and re-attach the plug cap making sure the screw in the cap bites into the copper strands. If still no spark then the coil is probably dead.

One word of warning - don't allow power through the coil without making a full circuit (eg pulling the plug cap off the plug to stop the engine or spinning the motor quickly without earthing the plug) as the coils blow easily. Same applies to the PVL coils.

You may be lucky to find a motoplat coil 2nd hand (recommended as the Motoplat systems are good)but failing that I'm afraid its a complete replacement PVL set up (coil, rotor, stator).
