if you have a look - http://www.tal-ko.com/TechTalk.html - the new tyres contact patch is wider, so if the rears are the same, that could be the extra grip. The tkm tyres have always had that curved sidewall, maybe they decided to use this and get more grip? Lol, gonna miss the ol curve, no one else had curved tyres, added to the look of the TKM =P lol
