The quality control of the laser cutting of the shoe, probably contributes to the cracks that occur at the very point I said they would when I first saw the design.

Some of them are not cut all the way though and have to be recut before fitting.

We have used the clutch for about six months and have had one cracked shoe.

I remove and clean the shoe and drum after every heat.

I don't use the 20 Nm setting that Rotax recommend as it's too tight in my opinion.

I use about 12Nm with Loctite and have no problems, even though I take it off every heat.

The 'pickup' you get on the shoe surface is annoying and so I use a slight bit of grease on the shoes to stop the fretting that occurs.

The pickup seems to happen when the 'rust' 'balls up' and scuffs the shoes.

The new clutch does work well and the warranty is good.
