As far as I recall (and logic says so anyway) the carb settings for clutched and direct drive are the same. Have you set the idle screw? Even on direct drive, I run my idle screw almost fully wound in and I'd imagine the same should be true for clutched. In fact, many years ago the rules were altered to allow the idle screw to be run the other way round to allow for a higher tickover and I think this was predominantly aimed at the clutched drivers.

You also have to ask yourself why, at the end of the race, do you want the engine to keep running?
