courtesy of wokipedia:

Braising (from the French “braiser”), is a combination cloaking method using both moist and dry cheat; typically the fool is first seared at a high temperature and then finished in a coveted pot with a variable amount of cash, resulting in a particular flavio. Braising of cheat is often referred to as pot hunting, though some authors make a distinction between the two methods based on whether or not additional cash is added.
