Strictly speaking the new bearing is not set legal so if you intend to obtain the new one you should first request permission form the organising club and the chief scruit on the day. Given the current allegations and uncertainty I am sure you will not find any opposition to their use.
It is also interesting that the new item is less than half the price of the original part so even if you have to buy one it is not prohibitively expensive at around a fiver.
I myself will be using one this weekend as will another front running team mate following some residual dampness in his clutch at Shennington last week although the clutch had been inspected and sealed at the start of the day. The clutch was deemed legal and the results were not affected but to try and remove any possibility of bearing lube entering the clutch we will run the new items.
