Ok thanks for the advice but i'm only testing.

The rad hoses have dry-clips so draining the coolant when swapping engines is not an issue as the hoses seal when disconnected.

I was looking for just a simple sensor and guage as i dont need a datalogger and already have a rev counter - cost is obviously a consideration.

I have found a gauge for a car with sernsor but it requires a 12v battery - i dont want to lug a rotax battery around just to run a gauge - is there a small battery powered alternative much like the rev counters or a smaller battery that would do the job?
