Ah! Here’s a cunning plan: Given the blatant bias at both the CIK and MSA levels in favour of old-school, 2-stroke engines, let’s just call it a 2/ engine!
Then again, the powers that be will never accept anything new unless “motivated” by forces much greater than can be mustered here, so it’s best to stay outside the club anyway.

Singers: yes, do try a gearbox kart. They are indeed great fun, just nowhere near as rewarding in the longer term – very old-fashioned – like driving a nice classic sports car once in a while. They don’t get under your skin like the Wankel does (it’s the same with rotary-engine cars – ever tried one?).
