Those of you who have received a response from the MSA will be aware they have asked for video or photographic evidence of the alleged problem. (Even after the accident, pics of the tyre marks on the bodywork could be useful). At the moment much of this discussion is anecdotal, from what some saw in a high speed accident, or thought they saw. Since 90% of the front fairings are of the disputed design, then it follows most karts in accidents will have these fitted. There seems two problems
a) subtle lifting of the kart in front
b) nose to nose contact resulting in a flip over
On the latter I looked very carefully on the CCTV at one of these at Shenington, and it was wheel to wheel contact, not the fairing. I should have thought PFI would have video, THR, have you asked? (And best wishes to Tom for a quick recovery)
So, please find some real evidence, then the issue can be progressed. In the meantime scrutineers will be alerted to ensure the front fairings are always of the correct shape, and not deformed.
