Do Rotax Max Junior engines tick over better than Seniors?

Just rebuilt my Junior Max into a Senior.
As a junior it would tick over a dream, now its a Senior it runs erratic on tick over.

Could it be the higher compresion, barrel porting and power valve of the Senior cause erratic running at the bottom end?
