when you say ignition, do you mean before it starts or before it even turns over?

make sure the battery is charged, check the wiring loom and connections

also make sure you blow the fuel through, you may need to do this twice as after the initial blow it may not necessary draw the fuel fully into the carb. that is usually the biggest problem with getting them to start first time.
